DICK WEBSTER
After graduating from Johns Hopkins University, where I earned my BA degree in secondary education and captained the Blue Jays lacrosse team, I began my professional career at Severn School (Severna Park, MD). My journey was just beginning, however, as I subsequently enjoyed rewarding experiences at Sewickley Academy (Sewickley, PA), Wroxeter-On-Severn School (Arnold, MD), Annapolis Country Day School (Annapolis, MD), Landon School (Bethesda, MD), La Lumiere School (La Porte, IN), Montclair Kimberley Academy (Montclair, NJ), the United States Naval Academy (Annapolis, MD), and Boys’ Latin School (Baltimore, MD).
In my various professional roles as an educator, coach, counselor, consultant, leader and motivational speaker, I have always marveled at how the culture and values of any institution or organization can impact its members’ lives as well as the larger community’s quality of life, and how a person’s attitude and effort can impact individual performance. And, similarly, I have always welcomed the opportunity to positively affect people's growth and development.
Some notable achievements include:
- The founding headmaster of an independent school
- Designed an innovative curriculum that raised expectations and improved performance
- Member, Severn School Athletic Hall of Fame
- Recipient of Boys’ Latin School’s Alumni Cup for Leadership Based on Character
- Recipient of seven Coach-of-the-Year Awards
- Recipient of Phi Gamma Delta’s Newton D. Baker Award for Outstanding Service
- Founded and directed The Excellence Quest Foundation, Inc
- Coached and counseled midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy
- Founded and directs Webster Consulting, LLC
- Created a unique college counseling program that promotes a larger understanding of self
